Hello to all and I would like to thank you for visiting and mainly being a part of the IPWSOA. The IPWSOA has been established since 1931 and has served the needs of thousands of water operators all across the State of Illinois. It is my desire, as President, to make sure that we continue to meet your training needs for years to come. This board is geographically represented from one end of the state to the other but with one desire in common. Our desire is to offer you the best Conference experience that makes you proud to be a member of IPWSOA.
As I think back, 20 years old and attending my first conference in 1996, I remember an overwhelming feeling of this large conference but yet so proud of representing the Hamilton County Water District. As years went on, I dreamed about being part of something so large and so beneficial to all of us operators. Years later, after speaking at other conferences, I had the opportunity to speak at the 2010 IPWSOA conference. After a couple of days of confirming I would speak, I was approached about serving as the Southern Illinois representative which was replacing Dale Jones. I don’t remember how I answered but I remember the honored feeling welling up inside of me as I was thinking, “I can’t believe I’m finally getting this opportunity.”
With that being said, my hope is that all of you take pride in your association in order to help us make this the best association possible. IPWSOA could not possibly exist without the members that attend the conference, the staff and all the volunteers that make up several committees. I want to personally thank each of you that make IPWSOA possible and I look forward to seeing you at the 2016 conference.
